NJ Pine Barrens Adventure: Conquering Mud, Sand, and Thrills!

Off Road Roos kicked off 2025 with an unforgettable journey through the wilds of Wharton State Forest and Brendan T. Byrne Forest on January 11th. This wasn’t just a Sunday drive; it was a full-fledged exploration of the Pine Barrens’ diverse terrain.

Our adventure began at the historic Atsion Mansion, setting the stage for a day of discovery. From there, we charted a course to the iconic Apple Pie Hill Fire Tower, taking in the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

But the real excitement began after our lunch stop. We veered off the beaten path and into a sandy haven, where our Subarus tackled every obstacle with confidence. Puddles? No problem. Hills? Bring them on! Off-camber turns? We laughed in the face of danger (safely, of course!).

And just when we thought we’d seen it all, we stumbled upon a frozen mud pit—a challenge that beckoned us to test our limits. Did we conquer it? You bet we did!
