NJ Manahawkin WMA State Forest Graffiti Cleanup

New Jersey’s Manahawkin WMA State Forest is a gorgeous area enjoyed by families throughout the summer. Sadly, a bunch of people graffitied it pretty badly, including using some language that’s not appropriate for a family friendly place.

New Jersey DEP Conservation Police reached out to us and asked if we could take care of it, so, of course, we didn’t hesitate.

On June 4th, William Dietrich and Gabby ventured out to tackle the graffiti and did a first coat on much of the jersey walls and fencing at the water. As always, anywhere Will walks into, he removes at least a bag of trash from – so, a couple more bags of trash gone from public use land!

James & Aven Marcotte, and Bill Peters came out a few days later for round 2, and finished a second coat and painted the retaining walls. After a quick inspection of the area, they found more graffiti on another jersey wall and eradicated that next. Like much of the team, James, Aven and Bill also walked out with a few bags of trash too!

A couple days well spent by the community giving back!!! A once beautiful spot for families to hang out at was restored with profanity and graffiti all gone!
