Adventuring Responsibly

Mud, Sweat, and Stewardship: The Off-Road Roos’ Epic Forest Cleanup Adventure (May 2024)

The Off-Road Roos Community isn’t just about conquering trails and mud-splattered adventures. We’re also deeply committed to protecting and preserving the natural playgrounds we love. That’s why we recently embarked on an epic three-day cleanup mission in the heart of New Jersey’s State Forests. Read our event’s story and follow along in our adventure in the video below.

Conquering Trails and Trash

Our adventure started with the familiar thrill of off-roading. We tackled challenging trails, navigated rocky terrain, and soaked in the breathtaking scenery. But this time, our vehicles weren’t just carrying gear and snacks—they were hauling trash bags filled with litter collected from hundreds of miles of trails.

We filled a massive 30-yard dumpster to the brim, removing everything from discarded bottles and cans to larger debris. With the help of our trusty Subaru Sambar mini-truck, we reached even the most remote and hard-to-access areas. In particularly sensitive zones, we went the extra mile and hand-carried trash to minimize our impact.

The Power of Community and Collaboration

This incredible feat wouldn’t have been possible without the unwavering support of our sponsors and the incredible dedication of the Off-Road Roos community.

Subaru of America generously provided the dumpster for the cleanup and sponsored our campsites, making it possible for us to stay on-site for the duration of the project. The Hauling Department, a local trash hauling company, stepped up to efficiently transport the collected waste to the dumpster, ensuring that our efforts had a lasting impact.

But the true heroes of this adventure are the Off-Road Roos Community Members themselves. Our volunteers came together, armed with gloves, trash bagsm provided by Subaru of America, and a shared passion for the environment. We laughed, we sweated, and we formed bonds that extend far beyond the trails. This cleanup was a testament to the power of community and the impact we can have when we work together.

Leaving No Trace and Inspiring Others

The Off-Road Roos Community is proud to have made a significant contribution to the health and beauty of New Jersey’s State Forests. Our cleanup mission is a reminder that responsible off-roading means more than just enjoying the thrill of the ride—it’s about leaving our trails better than we found them.

We hope that our story will inspire others to explore the great outdoors responsibly and take action to protect the environment. Whether it’s picking up a few pieces of litter on your next hike or organizing a larger cleanup effort, every action counts.
