Isaiah off-roads his fully functional and registered Subaru Sambar during cleanup events and hammock camps on trails. Due to its rural use designation, he trailers the Sambar to events as it’s unsuitable for high-speed highways. The Sambar impressively handles numerous off-road obstacles with ease, making these adventures enjoyable.
Nick drives his 2004 Forester XS, Gump, which features a Thule Rooftop Tent. The vehicle’s underside is fully equipped for hanging out and cooking, though the stove is not currently set up.
Julius the Trek, a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, is a 6-speed manual modified with all-terrain tires, a 2-inch suspension lift, and a skid plate. Steve uses it for kayaking, camping, biking, and overlanding. This “dadwagon” is always prepared for adventures.
Yetta and Bill camp in their Boreas XT Overlanding Trailer and bring their bikes for adventures. Their trailer ensures they are fully self-sufficient and prepared for trail biking excursions.
Ronald has heavily modified his 2019 Forester Sport, named Stormy, for off-road capability. Enhancements include a 2” lift, armored protection, rock sliders, a specialized front bumper, winch, Prinsu Roof Rack, 17” wheels with larger tires, and auxiliary lights. These upgrades enable him to travel challenging terrains and forge new friendships and adventures.
Jim enjoys challenging his 2015 Subaru Outback, nicknamed Little Ruby Subie, to extreme conditions like water crossings and tough trails. Despite occasional mishaps like flooding the engine, his car is always up for the adventure.
Brenda enjoys adventures in her 2022 Subaru Outback Wilderness, named Electra. Designed for challenging terrains, Electra is equipped with a turbo engine and custom bumper/winch. Together, Brenda and Electra explore various environments, make friends, offer assistance, and revel in the thrill of the journey.
Tyler enjoys all kinds of camping, from bushcraft backpacking to glamorous glamping. His modified Outback with enhanced suspension and a customized trailer, featuring a batwing awning and pressurized water, allows him to haul his family’s gear off-grid, ensuring they are well-prepared for any camping adventure.
Robert, an outdoor enthusiast known for his adventures with Off Road Roos, has transformed his Subaru Ascent into a mobile basecamp. Equipped with essential gear for extended trips and enough supplies for over a week, he prepares for any situation. His passion reflects in his well-equipped vehicle, supporting both remote exploration and group outings.
The Off Road Roos dedicated a weekend to environmental stewardship, cleaning up the New Jersey Pine Barrens from July 26-28, 2024. Overcoming challenges, they removed 7,500 pounds of trash, including restoring a hidden lake. With support from Subaru, NJDEP, and local businesses, they showcased the importance of community efforts in protecting nature.
Manahawkin WMA State Forest in New Jersey, enjoyed by families, was vandalized with graffiti and inappropriate language. The New Jersey DEP Conservation Police asked Off Road Roos if we could help. Volunteers removed trash and painted over graffiti on June 4th and subsequent days, restoring the area to its former family-friendly condition.
The Off-Road Roos Community organized a three-day cleanup in New Jersey’s State Forests, collecting litter from hundreds of miles of trails. Supported by Subaru and local sponsors, volunteers removed debris, demonstrating the power of community and dedication to conservation. Their mission promotes responsible off-roading and environmental protection.
